Business Objective

The goal of standard setting is to recommend to the CIPM Advisory Board a minimum passing score that appropriately distinguished between those candidates that demonstrated mastery of the curriculum from those that did not.

Volunteer Impact

The standard setters’ recommendation is one of the key factors that the Board of Governors considers when setting the MPS for the CFA exams. The standard setting process is an important step in maintaining consistency and fairness in evaluating candidates.
